MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS

The aim of the session is to provide learners with knowledge of their roles and responsibilities regarding Mental Health Awareness.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand how common mental health problems are in the UK

  • Understand the different mental health problems

  • Understand the principle of parity of esteem in relation to mental health

  • Know where to find additional information and support for people who have mental health problems

  • Understand how health and social care staff can improve their interaction with people who have mental health problems.

STRESS AWARENESS

This session aims to enable participants to manage stress at work and at home more effectively.


By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe what is meant by the term ‘stress’

  • Explain the UK context of stress

  • Recognise the organisational impact of stress

  • Understand the legal implications of not managing stress

  • Understand what can be done to manage stress in our lives.
